Show me, Ya Rabb.

Stand up with true devotion to Allah

Anonymous asked: azwa, how to be istiqamah? ='(

Assalammualaikum wbt Anon. I hope this answer find you in the best state of health and imaan :)

First thing, I took quite awhile to map out the best answer for you but honestly, it’s hard on my behalf to give you a seemingly the perfect answer because I’ve been asking myself a whole lot too regarding this issue.

I might not be the best person to be asked, really. Nevertheless, I’ll try my best, insyaAllah.

Different people have different struggles, no? I have mine, and mine seems to be bigger than this universe. I struggle on daily basis, and it ain’t an easy one I gotta be frank.

If, let say IF, people see me as someone who’s strong enough to face this world and commit to my ‘new phase’, honestly I gotta say, nay sometimes the commitment subdues. Takut kan when we suddenly realize oh no the imaan’s getting weaker and we, either intentionally or unintentionally, distance ourselves from Allah swt.

Tapi, whatever it is, even though it seems reaaaal hard to be istiqamah and we allow ourselves slacking off, NEVER EVER leave alQuran behind. Seriously, never ever do that.

To me, however hard the temptations get me, however lazy I am to do this and that for Allah, I just know leaving alQuran behind is the ultimate ‘bye bye’ of being istiqamah.

We might be slacking off; skipping the puasa sunat, solat sunat, sadaqah whatnots. We might feel malas or just not ‘in the mood’ to upgrade our good deeds, but alQuran is the catalyst and motivation for us to get back up once again.

Sorta the fuel, or perhaps the energy drink to boost our poor state of imaan. Get me? ;)

Just for the time being, don’t leave alQuran. Not even for one day. I didn’t read it yesterday so I felt extremely guilty and afraid by doing so the shaytaan’s having the fun time. A day without alQuran is like giving the shaytaan big chances to destroy us, to destroy our imaan. And with that, the end of our effort to be istiqamah in whatever deeds.

Al Quran, aside than prayers, is one way to strengthen our relationship with Allah swt and it has lotsa reminders in it. Eventually when we keep on reading it, we’ll go through verses that’ll help to boost our imaan and make us stand firmly on the path of Allah, insyaAllah.

Hopefully, we’ll succeed, ameen.

The Quran speaks to all of us

thalamtnafsee:

I find it ironic when we find ourselves telling a brother or sister in faith that “this ayah was revealed for people like you” when Allah tells us in Quran that this Book was sent to all of mankind; the entire thing, the whole package.

But what is more ironic than this, however, is that the verse(s) being used to express that specific sentiment is either a verse used because of our anamosity towards the person the ayah is “talking about” or our intolerance towards the attitude or behavior of the person we can’t seem to stand.  And what’s sad is that the ayahs that speak of the people who belied, abused, and spoke ill of the Prophet of Allah - and Islam in general - are being used to describe how we feel about our brothers and sisters in faith and humanity. That’s sad.

Instead of internally reflecting by asking our own nafs whether Allah might regard us as hypoctries or not, we decide to use these ayahs to describe Muslims we do not like. We need to stop this. If there is something you do not like - or perhaps, even despise - in your brother or sister, understand that what is most important is to perfect our own state of self to the best of our potential and leave what is absolutely out of our hands to Allah. Because yes, the way people choose to behave or act is out of our hands; we can not dictate to others how they must behave or act unless they are in need of our advice. And even then, we must first observe our behavior before we go advising others about their own.

Day 85Name: Al-Muqsit“Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.” [3:18] This name is very similar to the characteristic of Allah- Al Adl, which means Just. However, there is a small difference. A judge, for example, who does everything he is supposed to, is just- he is Adl. But once the judge issues a ruling, there is something wrong in the ruling and some sort of injustice is done while trying to do justice. The victim gets justice but perhaps the criminal gets more punishment than they deserved or not enough and thus perfect justice isn’t served. Muqsit means the one who gets the perfect, proper share and serves justice to every side. The criminal doesn’t get any more or less and the victim doesn’t get any more or less- everyone gets equal and perfect share. Truly, justice is done. This perfect justice is only given by Allah. This name teaches us an important moral lesson. Always be fair in your dealings, always pardon people, give equally, never oppress. The tyrants of the past and the tyrants of today, who use their authority and their wealth to kill and cause suffering will face Al-Muqsit, the only true judge and their hands and their minds and their tongue will be their witnesses. On the other hand, those that are oppressed, their cries and the pain never go unheard, their justice awaits as well.
“…And if you judge, judge between them with justice.
Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.” [5:42]
May Allah make us among those that are just to others, protect us from becoming oppressors in any capacity whether that may be with our families or friends or coworkers, and May Allah make us among those that pardon and forgive rather than avenge.
